It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...Wait, isn't this March?

This is what it looked like when I went to bed (that's snow). Twenty-four hours earlier it had been in the lower 70s. Needless to say, my younger (and more hairless) weenie would NOT go outside to pee in the snow. That little tail stayed tucked between his legs each time I tried. Guess I should have pulled out the sweaters!

My first blog. Ever.

So I've finally jumped on the blogging bandwagon. As the date on this implies, I actually started this a year ago. Since my home computer didn't work so well, I never was able to finish until this week. So, here we go:

I wasn't feeling very creative today, and since my dachshunds are my only children so far, this site will probably mainly be about them. Who knows?

Anyway, as I've said, I have two weenie dogs: Harley, 5, and Chopper, 3 1/2. They're great. Harley is actually 1/4 beagle and I think he has more of a beagle personality than a dachshund personality.

The other man in my life is my husband, Mike. We just got married on New Year's Eve, after being together for almost 6 years. We bought (built) our first house this past year and moved in at Thanksgiving. Now if we can just get all the boxes unpacked, maybe I can park in the garage!!

Last spring, we went to the Buda, TX, Country Fair and Weiner Dog Races. It was so much fun! A local dachshund rescue group set up a "kissing booth." It was great! Hopefully I can make this an annual event. There's also one closer to our home in Cleburne in the fall. My mother-in-law has 4 weenies and I think it'd be fun to take all 6 of them.
